The Inventors Fund was established with the aim to develop commercially viable inventions. The founder: Latvian Inventors Association.

First invention for realisation – “Hydrofoil trimaran” – is patented in five countries and has created a considerable interest in the market.

 When our first trimaran beat two other new trimarans of the same size in speed tests after  Amsterdam boatshow, a brand CATRI was developed (short form of “trimarans from Carnikava”) was registered. We started to build two CATRI models, but were forced to stop the process two years later. Infusion technology and composite sail materials were introduced in the sailing industry, and they offered the possibility to obtain 100% hydrofoil lifting capacity and to increase speed. Trials with the latest experimental trimaran Catri 25 confirmed significant increase of stability and speed both during high and low winds.  Sailing sport industry has introduced hydrofoils in the last years. Until now, all wind-driven sailing devices with hydrofoils, from boards to GIANT class trimarans, were used only for extreme and professional sport.

New CATRI all-purpose larger speed hydrofoil trimarans are currently the only hydrofoil devices oriented towards average sailor regarding the quality and price of the vehicle. They can be used both for competitions and for family cruising with children. The situation in sailing markets, especially in South Eastern Asia, forecasts a rapid growth of demand. Developments in product will promote an increase in the use of green wind energy in recreation fleets and in water transport.
